Update 31 Mar 2001
Morning overflights identified no oil of concern. Operations are focused on
cleaning the facility. As a contingency, the Unified Command is reviewing the
use of surface washing agents should high pressure washing alone fail to clean
the facility. Of special interest is the walkways, ladders, and handrails. The
cleanup standard is predicated on safety concerns. NOAA continues to support
the USCG by providing scientific technical support.
Note, the initial report identified Newfield as the RP. This is not true.
Ocean Energy is the RP, and the facility is High Island-560A.
